Sri Eshu and the Birth of Voodoo Kundalini
From an early age, I was drawn to the hidden currents of the mystical world, guided by an insatiable curiosity and an innate reverence for the unseen. My deep connection with animals, especially turtles, shaped my understanding of both the natural and spiritual realms. The turtle, an ancient traveler between world became a living symbol of endurance, wisdom, and the delicate balance between the earthly and the divine.
As my spiritual path unfolded, I pursued formal studies in Religious Studies at the University of Georgia, seeking to deepen my knowledge of esoteric traditions. This academic foundation reinforced the intuitive wisdom I had already absorbed from nature; lessons of stillness, perseverance, and transformation. It was during this time that I was initiated into the mystical path of Shaivism under the guidance of a revered teacher from Tamil Nadu. He recognized my destiny, foretelling that I would serve as a bridge between the sacred traditions of Africa and India. This prophecy became a guiding force, leading me to explore the deep connections between Ifa, Vodou, and Vedic sciences, particularly the divine archetypes of Eshu, Shiva, and Ganesh.
Alongside my spiritual studies, I immersed myself in the world of occult literature, collecting and selling rare esoteric books. This endeavor was more than just a business, it was a mission to preserve and disseminate the sacred knowledge hidden within these texts. Through my work as a book vendor, I became a conduit for seekers searching for forgotten wisdom, offering rare grimoires, ancient treatises, and sacred manuscripts that illuminated the mysteries of the divine.
My journey also led me to embody the sacred clowning tradition as Eshu the Clown, a manifestation of the trickster spirit that thrives at the crossroads of wisdom and folly. In many spiritual traditions, the clown is not merely a jester but a sacred figure who disrupts rigid structures, reveals hidden truths, and teaches profound lessons through humor and paradox. As Eshu the Clown, I embraced this archetype, using laughter, riddles, and performance to break illusions and guide others toward deeper self-awareness. The clown, much like Eshu himself, is both a disruptor and a healer, showing that wisdom often wears the mask of foolishness.
My spiritual path eventually led me to initiation as an Awo (priest) of the West African Ifa Orisha tradition, where I gained profound insights into divination, geomancy, and ritual work. This wisdom, combined with my studies in Ifa, Vodou and Kundalini Yoga, inspired me to create Voodoo Kundalini, a syncretic system that harmonizes African and Hindu mystical traditions. This synthesis provides seekers with a transformative path that unites the spiritual technologies of Ifa, Vodou, and Yogic disciplines, unlocking profound inner power and cosmic alignment.
Through my work, whether as a priest, a book vendor, or Eshu the Clown, I have remained committed to bridging worlds, breaking barriers, and revealing hidden wisdom. The sacred and the profane, the serious and the playful, the structured and the chaotic all find their place within my path.
